TOP 10
Here is a list of my 10 favorite books from 2016
01
Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
This was the first book I finished this year and it is my favorite. I haven't cried in a book so much, nor have I read a book in one day since the first time I read Twilight. I know some people either really like Colleen Hoover or really hate her, I'm in the first group. I think her writing is beautiful and honest and I could not recommend this book more!
02
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
This book is so good! I read this at a time that when I went through a lot of change and felt a lot of loneliness. Even if I wasn't going through that stuff I know that I still would have gotten something from this story. This book is a beautiful reminder of God's pursuit of our heart set during the gold rush time period. It is beautiful and heart breaking and I love it!
03
Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
This is the first book I've read that had a main character suffer from anxiety. Her's is different than the kind I suffer from and what most people do, but I just love how this author mixed the serious with the comedy. It is really centered around family and friendship and discovery of one's strength. Audrey is a little young, but that did not take away from the story what so ever. I really enjoyed this book!
04
November 9 by Colleen Hoover
Another Colleen Hoover book! Like I said, you either love her writing or hat her writing. This book was about relationships and timing. I don't want to spoil anything so I'm going to leave it at that! I highly recommend this book!
05
The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead
This is the 3rd book in the Vampire Academy spin off series Bloodlines. This series is so good! I grew up reading the Vampire Academy series and I loved it! Like loved it! But this series has replaced that one. I love these characters, I love the relationships between the different species and how she has expanded this world! I love Sydney and if you have read the Vampire Academy series or if you know anything about this series and you aren't sure if you want to read it, I highly recommend you give it a try!
06
The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
This was the last book in the Percy Jackson series! It was epic! I loved how he concluded the series and just how he writes this series! I read the whole series in 2016 and I'm so glad I did! It has been on my bucket list for a while and if you are at all interested in greek mythology I would read the first book and try it out!
07
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
So I read Fangirl which mentions these characters throughout and I was totally interested in reading this book. It was amazing! I love the characters, I loved the way she used "the chose one" trope and made it into an instant favorite. She writes so easily and relatable. I haven't read a single book of hers that I didn't like. She has relatable characters and interesting plots. Even if you haven't read Fangirl this book is really great and I recommend it for people who enjoy fandoms and fantasy.
08
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
This was my first Jennifer L. Armentrout book and I have to say I was not disappointed. She like Rainbow Rowell writes very relatable characters. I heard that it was kind of like Twilight but with Aliens and I can see where people would get that comparison, but I wouldn't say that it is a bad thing. I personally love Twilight, I'm not a huge fan of Aliens, but it wasn't too scary. If you like Twilight, or paranormal fiction/romance and aren't offended by cheesy lines then you might love this as well!
09
To All the Boys I've Loved Before: Jenny Han
I just love Jenny Han. Her books are so easy to love. They are cute and fluffy and they just make me feel so happy! I read her Summer I Turned Pretty series when I was in high school and I loved it, and now I love this series as well! She is an auto by author and I recommend her if you enjoy Ya. If you don't, you might not like them, but if you don't mind a little immature plots and characters for the sake of cuteness you will probably enjoy this series/author.

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about this book. I don't get it. It was so cute and I don't think its supposed to be taken as serious as people say it is. It's a book about a guy in the late 90's whose job is to make sure people aren't misusing their email and stuff at work. He comes upon two women who gossip and chat back and forth and becomes attracted to one. He's kind of a loner/geek. He's smart but still lives at home. I mean it's just a cute book. It's interesting and I don't think that it's so far out their that a nerdy guy can be tall and handsome (that is one of the complaints I heard about this book). I enjoyed it a lot. My only complaint about this book and a lot of her other books is I would like a couple more chapters after the resolution. I just fall in love with her characters I don't want to leave them!
