In my quest to read more in the last year, I started a lot of new series. Now, while I love series, it's so hard to remember things from a series I started last year. Part of the reason I haven't finished these series is because I buy 95% of my books second hand. It's the only way I can support my book addiction. So, I thought I would do the TBR book tag!
How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
I mostly keep track of my TBR with my Goodreads. I have been adding books to my list for a couple of years now, and some of the books on it I'm not entirely interested in anymore. I also have a physical book pile on my desk separated in two categories. One is of all the physical books I have that I need to read, and one is of the books I need to read for the month. I find it much easier to separate the two.
How do you determine which books from your TBR to read next?
I don't really have a system. I usually try to pick books that I am really interested in reading at the moment. Sometimes the season we are in can influence it. During the summer I like contemporaries and historical fiction. In the fall I like fantasies and thrillers.
A book that has been on my TBR the longest?
Physically- I think it is The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdeih or Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst. I'm not sure when I got them, but those have been around for a while.
Electronically- Daughter of Smoke and Bone
A book you recently added to your TBR?
Gathering Blue by Lois Lowery.
A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?
I don't pick books for their covers. I normally hear about books on booktube and if I like them then I add them to my TBR.
A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading?
There's a book on my Goodreads called This Raging Light by Estelle Laure. I have no idea where I saw this book or why I added it, but I don't see myself ever reading it. Maybe if someone gives it to me for free or something, but not something I am interested in anymore.
An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?
I don't have any...
A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?
Everyone has been talking about Eliza and her Monsters by Franscesca Zappia. I keep hearing how it is a better Fangirl (Rainbow Rowell). That kind of makes me sad, because I love Fangirl and I feel like people are slamming it. I don't like it when people put down other books to make a book sound better. Why not just say that this book does a good job talking about "anxiety" or "fandom" similar to what Rainbow Rowell did with Fangirl. I mean if you honestly think one book is better that's one thing, but don't slam a book for no reason. I think one day I will read this book, just because of the reviews and topic.
A book on your TBR that everyone has read but you?
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I really want to read this book especially because they are making a movie about it! As soon as I see it at a bookstore I am so reading it!
A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read?
The Law of Moses by Amy Harmon. I read A Different Blue by her early this year and fell in love with her characters and writing. I hope I get to read this soon because it sounds so good! Honestly I'm dying to read any book from her, but this is the one that I've been interested in it for a while!
How many books are on your TBR?
Physical- 18
Goodreads- 204 (that is including some of the books from my physical, I'm just too lazy to subtract)
Okay, so that is my TBR book tag. I have so many books I want to read and not enough time. I hope you guys have a good rest of your week and get a chance to read some!
