Hello! I'm so excited to do my first tag!! In honor of my favorite series I thought I would start off with a Harry Potter themed one! I'm going to try to do tags at least once a week, maybe twice if I have time! So here we go:

1. Expecto Patronum

(A childhood book connected to good memories)

I promise I won't answer every question with Harry Potter, but this series is my childhood. I remember coming home from the library with the books, I remember begging my parents to buy me the books. I wrote in journals and writing circles about my love for the series. It just means a lot to me!

2. Epelliarmus

(A book that took you by surprise)

This is a book that I did not expect to like. But turns out I loved it. The characters, the time period, the writing, the way she uses God's words to help us understand Him and our relationship with Him is beautiful. It is powerful. This book may not be for everyone, it is historical Christian fiction, and I recognize that not everyone can enjoy this time period (California gold rush) but I was pleasantly surprised by this book, I recommend it to so many people now!

3. Prior Incantato

(The last book you read)

I have slowly but surely been making my way through all of Rick Riordan's books. I love his stories, they make me happy. They are full of mythology, action, and hilarious characters. I recommend his books if you are at all interested. It is middle grade, but they are just so fun!

4. Alohamora

(A book that introduced you to a genre you had not considered before)

This is my first real look at Adult thrillers. I really enjoyed it! It wasn't too scary, but it was "thrilling"(?) enough to keep me guessing and trying to figure out the mystery. It did not take me long to read it and I liked how he included some diversity in this book. If you like thrillers or are nervous to try one, like I was, then I recommend this because it seemed a little mild, but also it is really good!

5. Riddikulus

(A funny book you've read)

This book was a huge step out of my comfort zone. I am so afraid of space! It freaks me out, the thought and concept of it is just so scary, but this book managed to not completely terrify me. It is so funny! I heard so many good things about this book so I had to try it when I saw it at the book store for like $2. It is hilarious, I highly recommend it. I haven't seen the move, I'm not ready for that yet, but I have heard great things about that as well.

6. Sonorus

(A book you think everyone should read)

This question is really hard to answer because I don't know how to incorporate age, gender and any of the other things that separates most peoples reading taste. But, I chose I Am Malala because I think this book really shows how ignorant or misinformed so many people can be because of their stereotypes or fears. This book taught me a lot about an event I thought I had enough information on because it was something that I lived through. Turns out, I only knew one side of the story and a very biased side at that. I Am Malala has a very friendly and informed voice. And I know that might not sound fun, but she really brings her readers into her day to day life in a country that most Americans can not even begin to imagine. I really enjoyed this book.

7. Obliviate

(A book or spoiler you would like to obliviate)

I have been so majorly spoiled for this series! I accidently read The Tales from Shadowhunter Academy, thinking it was necessary to read before Lady Midnight. Turns out it is necessary, but it spoils so much for the Infernal Devices series. I still want to read this series, I've already read the first book, twice, but I'm in search of the 1st edition copies. So, until I find the last two I will just have to live my life knowing I am so spoiled!

8. Imperio

(A book you had to read for school)

I had to read this book (play) in my 9th grade English class. Then in my undergrad I was in the play! This book is a classic Shakespeare favorite. I really enjoy the mischief and run around. Now, this is not my favorite Shakespeare play (Romeo and Juliet is) I do recommend this for those who aren't familiar with a lot of his plays. Also, if you are new to the classics then I would get the No Fear Shakespeare version. It gives you the original text and a modern day text side by side.

9. Crucio

(A book that was painful to read)

I wanted to like this book so bad. I heard nothing but good things about it, but man was this painful. That is the perfect way to describe it. I had no fun reading it, I cringed through the dialogue, and I really did not like the characters. It was painful. I never want to discourage someone to read, and I want people to form their own opinions, but just know this book is really loved by a lot of people. I am not one of them!

10. Avada Kedavra

(A book that could kill)

I have no idea how to interpret this question, but I picked this book. This book is a science fiction young adult book. If you are at all in the booktube community then you have heard about this book. It is loved by so many people, but space freaks me out (see #5). I didn't really enjoy the format and I didn't love the plot. I just don't think that I am the right audience for this book, but I wanted to try it out, especially because The Martian went so well. But this book was not nearly as good as The Martian and I just didn't like it. I picked it for this category because if you go into space without oxygen then you will die. So, yeah.

Okay, so that was the Harry Potter spells book tag! I really enjoyed it, I hope that you did as well! Like I said before I hope to do a book tag at least once a week! I hope you guys have a good week!!
